This little beauty is called the Trabant, and at one point was East Germanys most popular car. The name, which roughly translates to Satellite, is said to have been inspired by the Soviet Sputnik. It was constructed of Duroplast which was made of recycled material, cotton waste from Soviet Union and phenol resins from the East German dye industry. The Trabant was the first car to use recycled material in the construction of the car body . Click the links in the paragraph above for more info.
